Women’s Introduction to Fly Fishing Class – Doylestown, PA

Sign Up Fly fishing is a sport that grows with you – it can be approached as simple and basic or as complex and challenging as you want it to be. You really don’t have to cast 75 feet and know the Latin name of every aquatic critter to be good at it and have a great time! What will be covered: Equipment:
  1. Rigging – Rods, Reels, Knots
  2. Waders & Boots (Vibram vs. Felt) and how to clean them to prevent Didymo from spreading
  3. Options for carrying your gear – Fishing vest, waist pack, sling or lanyard
  4. Accessories – fly boxes, nippers, forceps, floatant, landing net, etc
  5. Flies – Dries, Nymphs, Terrestrials, Streamers
Casting:
  1. Grip and stance
  2. Pick up and lay down
  3. Roll casts (on the water)
Fishing:
  1. Wading safety
  2. Fighting a fish
  3. Landing a fish safely and the release
