Ladies Fishing on the Fly with Orvis Park Meadows…
Register NowJoin the Cutthroat Chapter of Trout Unlimited and Orvis Park Meadows for the seventh annual “Ladies Fishing on the Fly” at the Highlands Ranch Eastridge Recreation Center. This class teaches ladies 16 and older the art of fly fishing, and consists of one classroom session on Friday 8/16 and an outdoor field session on Saturday 8/17. The workshop covers casting, reading the water, entomology, conservation, knots, fish handling, and much more…with plenty of hands on practice.

All fishing gear needed for the classes is provided.
Bring sunscreen, a good hat and a rain jacket if weather looks like it could pop up during our class time. If you have fly fishing gear you’d like to use for the class, feel free to bring it.

“These Boots Are Made for Wading” is a Women-Only, fun, interactive immersion into the sport of fly fishing for every level – from the total beginner through the most experienced angler. Activities
Each day allows for relaxing and meditative time for you to choose how to spend. Greet the day with coffee and reflection on the patio, schedule an in-room afternoon massage – one is included with your registration. Rest and relax, journal and meditate. Each afternoon/evening we will host a fly fishing seminar to discuss your questions, instruct on some basics such as knot tying, rigging, entomology, fly selection, and more!
Colorado Cuisine
Get ready for local flavor! Each meal during the retreat is planned with your enjoyment in mind; welcome reception hors d’oeuvres, morning breakfast buffet, stream-side hot-cooked lunches, and Colorado cuisine style dinners. Relax nightly on the lodge’s scenic patio. Share the day’s adventures with friends over wine and hors d’oeuvres, wood burning fires and a panoramic sunset. A special catered Celebration dinner will be held off-site Saturday evening at the Ranch. (Any food sensitivities/allergies will be accommodated.)
Celebrate
You’ll visit a 110-acre private historic ranch surrounded by national forest. Enjoy a soak in the Japanese-style hot tub (robes and towels provided), an outdoor massage, yoga session on the lawn, explore the ranch, or go for a hike! On the last night we’ll party at the ranch with a special Celebration dinner. Socialize over wine and hors d’oeuvres. Reflect on the weekend, share memories with new friends about the fish you caught and the ones that got away!
Location
Your base camp will be in the heart of the Colorado Rocky Mountains at Mountain River Lodge, Lake George, Colorado. The lodge is located 50 miles west of Colorado Springs Airport and 122 miles south of the Denver International Airport.
Transportation
We will transport you to streams for fly fishing at Rainbow Falls Mountain Trout and to off-site activities at the Wild Canyon Ranch. We can provide transportation from Denver International Airport and Colorado Springs Airport for an additional fee.
Gear
All gear and fishing equipment is included. Bring clothing and outer layers for a variety of possible weather scenarios such as sun and rain as weather changes quickly in Colorado. Be sure to bring a brimmed hat such as a ball-cap, and polarized sunglasses for our fishing time. The days should be very warm and the nights cool off quite a bit so make sure to bring your favorite cozy sweater!
