Heidi Lewis

FEATURED ANGLER
Salt Lake City, Utah
How long have you been fly fishing?
Since 2012, but I’ve been fishing since I was two years old.
Favorite fly-fishing partner
The majority of the time, it's my dogs and just my thoughts (preferred way). Other times, it's my daughters, friends, husband, or strangers.
Favorite water to fish
Moving water is probably my favorite (drawn to it like a beaver!) but really ANY and ALL waters that contain fish.
Favorite species to fish for
Trout, with bass as a runner up!
Bucket List
I have fished for most everything I've wanted to, but there are places I’d like to visit. I think my bucket list is mostly back to some of my favorite places I've been before. I would love to see Argentina, Chili, Christmas Island, or New Zealand one day and more steel head rivers in the PNW.
Top Three Fly Patterns
I could never just choose 3! How about 4? Syls Midge, Turkey Baetis, YC's Pheasant Tail Soft Hackle, and Hickman's Skiddish Smolt.

Heidi Lewis

Fly fishing came into Heidi’s life when she really needed time alone to clear her head and clock out of everyday life. Since that day, she has fished pretty much once a week, and it truly is a therapy for her for so many reasons, including exercise and meditation. Every time she fishes, it’s a new experience with a new code to crack or a puzzle to complete. It’s humbling, rejuvenating, exciting, and a passion. It’s something that follows her into her dreams at night and motivates her to work hard so she can play hard. The only thing Heidi regrets in life is that she didn’t discover fly fishing sooner. She enjoys sharing many aspects of it with others, as well.
